MARGAO: The Bharatiya Janata Party concentration on certain sections of Salcete is causing discontent amongst the residents of the other places that are totally ignored by the party and people are also getting agitated by BJP’s false propaganda.
Raia Deputy Sarpanch Mario D’Souza took strong exception to the BJP projection on Thursday, that Raia panchayat members have joined the party. “In reality only four panchayat members who are in the opposition in the 11 member panchayat body have joined the BJP,” he said.
Mario asserted that the other six are united behind the Sarpanch Esmeralda Gomes. Incidentally Zelia Fernandes who joined the BJP is a former sarpanch of the panchayat and the other panchas who joined BJP are Jaimax D’Costa, Steffi D’Souza and Rohidas Borkar.
Meanwhile Carmona Sarpanch Allwyn Jorge; while appreciating the fact that the Congress and Aam Aadmi Party candidates did visit their panchayat to find out the grievances and aspirations of the people, regretted that the BJP candidate did not visit the village.
“I would request Narendra Sawaikar and also the CM of Goa to visit our panchayat to find out the needs of our people especially with regards to development,” he said.
Incidentally Sawaikar did not visit Carmona at all for the five years he was the MP and now that he is seeking a fresh mandate he has not visited this village.
