PANJIM: In a hard-hitting critique of the State government, MGP MLA Sudin Dhavalikar lashed at out the ruling dispensation for letting the people down on all fronts.
The former PWD minister criticised the govt on a range of issues, such as poor performance of State budgets and departments, handling of Shigmostav and Sanjivani sugar factory, to its seriousness as far as the River Mhadei and municipal reservations are concerned.
He demanded that Chief Minister Pramod Sawant meet the Prime Minister on the Mhadei diversion issue and if required take the other MLAs with him. He said Sawant should tell the PM that he will resign from BJP if the Mhadei issue is not resolved.
Holding govt documents in his hand, Sudin while addressing media persons on Thursday, said the State had not incurred more than 25% capital expenditure in the financial years 2018-19; 2019-20 and 2020-21. He said each of these budgets were failures as it did not achieve its set targets and that only the PWD managed to incur 35% capital expenditure.
On the budget, Dhavalikar reiterated that the CM cannot hold the entire budget session as scheduled as it will violate the code of conduct for the municipal councils that will have their elections in April.
Regarding the five municipal elections which were postponed following the SC order, he said there were a lot of irregularities on the part of the DMA with respect to the new reservation notification.
