PANJIM: Slamming the manner in which the public hearings for the Coastal Zone Management Plan were held, Porvorim MLA Rohan Khaunte called for more public hearings to be held at the panchayat level.
“Panchayat is the grassroot level of democracy and a government that empowers its panchayats displays true democracy. The Pramod Sawant-led State government should drop its manipulations and delegate CZMP hearings through panchayats upholding the true spirit of people’s governance,” said Khaunte.
