MARGAO: Congress MLA of Curtorim Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco has expressed happiness over the major policy decision with respect to Goenkars, Goan sons of the soil and Goan daughters of the soil.
Reginaldo hopes that the same policy will also be followed for the government and private sector employment, the grant of Comunidade land, availing of government financial assistance schemes, etc, in the days to come.
“I raised the issue of Goenkar sons/daughters of the soil, including Goan diaspora in a Private Members’ Resolution moved during the 2019 Monsoon Session of the Goa Legislative Assembly, wherein I requested the August House to strongly recommend the government to ensure through suitable legislation and executive orders that persons of Goan origin are given preference to employment in government/public services under the State and in the private sector that has directly or indirectly availed of government assistance in the disbursement of assistance under financial schemes and subsidies extended the State government and in allotment of Comunidade and Goa Housing Board land or tenements,” Reginaldo reminded.
