VASCO: MLA Carlos Almeida along with Mormugao Deputy Collector Sachin Desai inspected the new COVID vaccination centre at Ravindra Bhavan, Baina, on Monday, following complaints about the rush.
After taking stock of the situation at Ravindra Bhavan, the MLA said government is doing its best in these testing times and urged the people to take care of themselves. He assured to provide two of his staff to assist in the smooth vaccination.

Later, Mormugao Deputy Collector said the doctors at Ravindra Bhavan Baina have made arrangements for the people visiting the centre for vaccination. There will be a separate queue for persons aged 45 and above who register online.
Desai said inoculation of persons aged 45 and above is underway and vaccination for those between 18 and 45 years has not commenced.
Meanwhile, the Chicalim Sub District Hospital started functioning as 30-bedded COVID Hospital from Monday.
On first day, 10 patients were admitted. According to sources, patients with mild COVID symptoms, who need oxygen and medical treatment, will be admitted here.
