The works of hot-mixing of Arpora roads have been tendered at an estimated cost of Rs 5 crore, which includes the pet project of the Calangute MLA.
Speaking to media persons at Circle of Dreams site, Lobo said: “We had to shift at least eight chambers of PWD in the middle of the road, otherwise there would have breakages of water pipes every now and then, disrupting water supply to consumers of Nagoa, Saligao, Calangute and Baga.”
“The PWD has completed the works except for a chamber, where water leakage takes place and it will be resolved by the PWD and repairing will be taken up before hot-mixing the road,” he said.
Launching the hot-mixing works, Lobo said the villagers of Arpora and vehicle owners have suffered a lot due to bad state of road for quite long. “Hot-mixing of roads will bring an end to the sufferings and good days are ahead,” assured Lobo.
Appreciating the contribution of the villagers in parting away with their land for road access, Lobo thanked them for their support and co-operation to develop Arpora.
A large number of villagers from Arpora including Panchas Roshan Redkar, Joseph Fernandes, Agostinho D’Souza and Sakharam Naik besides former panchas were present at the site at Arpora.
