MARGAO: Congress’ Navelim MLA and former chief minister Luizinho Faleiro in a letter to Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant said it is disheartening that the State and the Central governments have failed to curtail the spread of corona virus.
He said for no reason at all the common Goan is made to suffer not only from the disease but worse still due to the lack of medical facilities to treat the disease.
He called for a holistic and comprehensive approach and an aggressive mechanism to control the spread of the infection.
He urged the chief minister to seek expert advice on the matter and assimilate the views of all stakeholders to chart out a firm approach to deal with the virus spread.
He asked the government to refrain from making various statements as they cause more confusion among the people.
Calling upon the government to adopt a “vaccinate all strategy”, he said the panchayats and municipal councils could be roped in to take the vaccination drive to each doorstep through the Health Services. However, he said first the government should procure the required number of vaccines to carry on the drive.
On the second wave of the pandemic, he lamented that the government failed to provide necessary health infrastructure and called for augmenting the health infrastructure.
