PONDA: Calling upon the government to do a rethink on sharp hike in petrol and diesel prices besides the exorbitant water bills, former PWD Minister and Marcaim MLA Sudin Dhavalikar on Monday said the people are hit hard by the above inflated rates which are not affordable to the common man.
Addressing media persons in Ponda, Sudin said, “The hike in petrol and diesel rates will lead to increase in prices of essential commodities, which will further burden the common man. The hike in diesel rates will lead to increase in bus fares.”
He said, “Consumers approached me with the latest water bill, which they claimed to be exorbitant and almost four times the normal bill they received in the past.”
