PONDA: Ponda MLA Ravi Naik demanded that State government should convene a meeting with education stakeholders to discuss and chalk out the modalities with regards to reopening of schools, higher secondary schools, colleges and institutions imparting higher education in Goa.
Addressing to media persons, Naik, who is also the Chairman of Ponda Education Society said, he had written a letter in this regard to the Chief Minister.
He said due to the COVID-19 crisis, education has come to a halt and parent, students , teachers and respective managements are seriously concerned about educational scenario in the State since educational institutions are waiting for the commencement of new academic year.
Naik said he therefore requested the Chief Minister Pramod Sawant that a meeting be held to consult all stakeholders including respective managements, headmasters association, principal forums, teachers’ associations and PTAs in deciding the modalities to reopen schools, methods of imparting lessons, regulating students’ movement and other such allied aspects connected and concerned with functioning educational institutions in view of COVID-19 pandemic.
