PANJIM: Indirectly sending a warning to the four dissenting MLAs, Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant on Friday said that the MLAs cannot take the law in their hands.
“The MLAs are law makers and cannot be law breakers,” Sawant said at a media briefing, reacting to queries on the BJP MLAs and Ministers who were openly revolting against the party.
He said the MLAs and ministers have a different forum to voice their grievances. “The MLAs can talk to me or the party president if they have any issues. They cannot break the law,” he said.
The Chief Minister also said that he will talk to all the MLAs and work out a solution. “I am in constant touch with the Centre on the issue. I will talk to the MLAs and resolve the issue. There is no need of any disciplinary action as of now,” he said.
On Thursday, BJP State president Sadanand Shet Tanawade had also warned the MLAs against indiscipline. Cuncolim MLA Clafasio Dias, Velim MLA and WRD Minister Filipe Nery Rodrigues, Nuvem MLA Wilfred D’Sa and Cortalim MLA Alina Saldanha have stood with the people of their constituencies opposing the three linear projects at Mollem.
The Chief Minister also reiterated that the Tamnar power project at Sangod, is required for Goa. “Goa will have power shortage in two year’s time if Tamnar power line work is stopped,” he said.
