PANJIM: Goa Assembly Speaker Rajesh Patnekar has called MGP legislator Sudin Dhavalikar on Wednesday, March 10, for some queries regarding disqualification petition filed by him against two former MGP MLAs Manohar Babu Ajgaonkar and Deepak Pauskar.

“I have called MGP petitioner (Sudin Dhavalikar) tomorrow (March 10) at 4 pm for some queries regarding his disqualification petition against Manohar Babu Ajgaonkar and Deepak Pauskar. I will also call other petitioner (Congress President Girish Chodankar) also for some queries and it will be 3-4 times to complete it,” Patnekar told Herald.

Patnekar said that he after receiving queries from the petitioners, he will deliver his judgements.

When asked whether he would deliver judgements before the beginning of the ensuing Budget session of Goa Assembly or after the end of the session, Patnekar said, “After the queries I have to write judgements. I cannot tell how soon judgement will be passed.”

Patnekar said that he completed hearings on February 26, and has reserved his orders on both the petitions filed by the MGP and the Congress Party.

Congress President Girish Chodankar is seeking disqualification of 12 former MLAs who switched their loyalties to BJP in July 2019.
