MLAs, Ministers resignation won’t affect party’s prospects, says CM

PANJIM: Putting up a brave face even after the resignation by two of its MLAs, including a Minister from the cabinet on Monday, the Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant said that defection by few for their “agenda of greed and personal interest” won’t deter party’s prospects in the upcoming assembly elections.

Sawant even said that BJP a big family and few defections cannot deter party’s agenda of good governance.

Minister for Ports Michael Lobo was the first to tender his resignation as Minister and MLA on Monday morning, followed by Mayem MLA Pravin Zantye. Total four BJP MLAs have resigned so far- Alina Saldanha and Carlos Almeida were the first.

In a tweet, Sawant said that BJP is a big family that continues to serve the motherland with full devotion. “A few defections, to fulfill the agenda of greed and personal interests cannot deter our agenda of Good governance,” he tweeted.

The Chief Minister further tweeted that Goan people have seen BJP’s governance and development model for a decade. “I am sure that they (people) will give us another term in their service. Jai Hind, Jai Goa,” he added.
