PANJIM: BJP MLA Vishnu Wagh and Congress MLA Mauvin Godinho came down heavily on PWD Minister Sudin Dhavalikar asking him to curb corruption in the department stating that there is rampant corruption even in the movement of files.
Wagh brought to the minister’s notice that the peons and LDCs are demanding bribes to move files from one desk to the other. He requested the minister to stop this trend of bribery in the PWD.
Godinho questioned the minister for not taking action against previous Congress ministers involved in PWD tender scam, despite having knowledge of this.
He said that some of the works in his constituency are being carried out without having been tendered and one councillor is accepting bribes from the PWD contractor for issuing PWD works. He asked that the matter be looked into and investigate as to where the money goes.
