MLAs who joined BJP are unhappy: MGP

PANJIM: Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) legislator Sudin Dhavalikar on Tuesday claimed that many Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLAs who are not happy with the party are in touch with him and a new political picture will emerge in the State soon after Ganesh Chaturthi festival.

Addressing a press conference at the party office, Panjim, Dhavalikar said that MLAs who had switched over to the BJP are unhappy and not in a proper frame of mind to stay there, when asked about his recent meeting with Science and Technology Minister Michael Lobo.

“Like many others, I met Lobo and we discussed development works as well as political happenings in the State. Today, even core workers of BJP are unhappy and you see the fate of BJP candidates who had contested in Santa Cruz, Taleigao, Panjim, Quepem and Canacona constituencies in the 2017 elections,” he said.

Dhavalikar further alleged that there is infighting amongst BJP Cabinet Ministers and recalled that even he was abused by one of the ministers during a cabinet meeting.

Dhavalikar said that there will be major surprises after the Ganesh Chaturthi festival but admitted that many will have to wait due to ‘Pitru Paksh’, which is considered to be inauspicious as per Hindu calendar.
