MARGAO: Responding to the issue raised by Margao Municipal Council (MMC) Councillor Ghanshyam Shirodkar that the government had not done the audit of MMC in the last four years, Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant said the Directorate of Municipal Administration (DMA) had already commenced work in this regard.
Speaking to media persons in Fatorda, the Chief Minister said his office is seized of the matter and that whatever action has to be taken as per law will be done and added that action will be taken if necessary.
The DMA has written to the State government asking that the Directorate of Accounts conducts the audit of all municipal bodies in the State and not just that of MMC alone.
