MAPUSA: The Chairperson of Mapusa Municipal Council Ryan Braganza on Friday informed that the annual traditional Milagres Dance will not be held this year due to the Model Code of Conduct and sound restriction.
During a meeting with the various stakeholders, decision was taken to restrict the fair and size of the stalls. Elaborate traffic arrangements and parking notifying near the river Tar.
“Traffic police will also be posted at prominent locations to regulate the flow of traffic in the city from Sunday onwards. The stalls will be placed in a single line only on the side touching the cemetery of the church, he said.
“The sizes of the stalls have been restricted and the fair will be starting from Monday and will go on up to May 13. As far as traffic and other law and order arrangements are concerned we have got assurance from both the police and traffic departments that the entire team will be deployed. They have given us a rough plan in regards to arrangement for the feast which will be executed by them,” said the MMC chairperson.
Mapusa PI Kapil Nayak, PI Traffic Tushar Vernekar, Fire Service Officer ASI Shivaji, the Fabrica committee members of St Jerome’s Church were present.
