MMC chief threatens to move court over grounded Qing

VASCO: The Chairperson of Mormugao Municipal Council, Deepak Naik, has threatened to approach the court if Mormugao police failed to take action against the people responsible for the grounding of cruise vessel M V Qing at Western India Shipyard premises.

After meeting Mormugao Police Inspector Kapil Naik in his office on Friday morning, Naik told reporters that he had lodged a formal complaint with the Mormugao police some five days ago with the hope that they would soon register an FIR and would start probing the case. However, the police have failed to register an FIR in the matter, till date, he regretted.
Mormugao PI Kapil Naik, however, informed that he has already forwarded Naik’s complaint to senior police officers.
