MARGAO: Margao Municipal Council (MMC) on Monday cleared the alleged illegal data and television cables strung on Electricity Department poles from Old Market Circle to Holy Spirit School.
Cable operators were unhappy with the MMC exercise and pleaded for more time to shift to underground cabling.
However, Chief Officer Siddhivinayak Naik refused to hear their plea on grounds that they did not make such a representation to the council even though the municipality had given them sufficient time to remove the cables.
