Prostitution: 2 Afghans held, victims rescued

CALANGUTE: Calangute Police busted a prostitution racket in the wee hours of Monday and arrested two Afghanistan nationals and rescued two Uzbekistan victims during the raid.
The police conducted the raid near a guesthouse at Gauravaddo, Calangute after receiving specific information.
During the raid, two victims aged 27 and 36 years respectively were rescued. Both the victims from Uzbekistan, who were procured by one Sanjiv were supplied to two customers namely Mohammad Arian and Mohammad Hodman both from Afghanistan for prostitution.  
The accused customers have been arrested. One of the accused is the Director of Internal Audit working for the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology , Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and the other is an advocate by profession. 
Both the victims have been lodged in State Protective Home at Merces. Both the accused have been remanded to seven days police custody.
