MARGAO: Sending a message loud and clear that the administration means business, the Margao Municipal Council on Monday placed under suspension an Upper Divisional Clerk.
Chief Officer Deepali Naik informed that the UDC Guru Fondekar was placed under suspension after he was not found on his seat twice when she took a round of the Municipal sections on Monday. “Twice, I took a round of the Municipal sections and the UDC was allegedly conspicuous by his absence on his seat. We are also verifying from the CCTV footage the various occasions when the UDC was not found in his seat after recording his attendance on the bio-metric reader,” the Chief Officer.
This is the second time in the last two months that the Chief Officer has placed Municipal employee under suspensions.
MMC Chairperson Arthur D’Silva informed that it has come to light that certain employees record their attendance on the bio-metric reader and disappear from the civic body.
