MARGAO: Due to a problem in the computer server, the Margao Municipal Council on Tuesday had to send back people who came with various applications.
Complaints, applications for certificates, licences and permissions were submitted at the MMC inward section. However, since the computer system was not working, the people were sent back.
A person who is running a business on the border of Goa-Karnataka had come to Margao to complete some formalities of ration card. When he went to the MMC for supportive documents he was asked to come another day as the server was down.
In another case, an applicant from Kharebandh was also asked to come back another day. When he asked for the reason, he was told that the entire system is now online and the central server is in Porvorim. Accepting manual applications isn’t possible.
Some visitors complained to the administration and the MMC has informed that it is looking into the issue.
