MAPUSA: The Mapusa Municipal Council councillor submitted a representation to Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Mapusa Deputy Superintendent of Police Uday Parab requesting a periodical patrolling in the jurisdiction of Ganeshpuri, Mapusa.
Ward No 6 Councillor Dr Nutan Bicholkar in her representation said that an incident of chain snatching had taken place in the Housing Board Colony of Ganeshpuri, Mapusa, a couple of days back. Also, an unknown person walked in one of the houses in the area with malafide intentions. It is also noticed that some unknown persons are moving suspiciously in and around the colony. In view of the above, it is requested to carry out periodical patrolling in the area to curb such incidents from happening.
Dr Bicholkar said, “For the past several days we are facing problem with regards to safety of women. When the women of the locality move out for their walks in the morning and afternoon, unknown people are entering into the houses, especially in the houses where there are senior citizens residing. There is safety concern in Ganeshpuri locality because young as well as unknown people move around and require protection. We have submitted a representation to DySp Parab demanding continuous patrolling in the area.”
Further, Dr Bicholkar appealed to the people to bring to their attention if they come across any suspicious movements in the locality.
