MARGAO: Margao Municipal Council Councillor Camilo Barretto on Saturday filed a police complaint against Police Sub-Inspector Dipesh Shetkar and Head Constable Prasanna Prabhugaonkar of Maina-Curtorim Police Station under Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989.
The councillor has filed this complaint before the South Goa Police Superintendent and urged to register FIR against both the police personnel.
As stated in the complaint, Barretto said that upon the request with regard to inquiry about the accident incident and the case pertaining to the same, PSI Dipesh insulted the councillor saying he should go and clean the gutters.
“The rude attitude of the PSI was shocking and unbecoming of a high ranked police officer. I am at a loss to understand that if an elected member of the society is treated in such a manner by the PSI, how he will treat the common citizens,” stated Camilo.
He has also marked the copy of the complaint to the Commissioner of Scheduled Tribes.
