MMC Deputy Chairperson’s fate to be decided today

The day will determine if Doris Teixeira retains her chair

MARGAO: Has the movement to move a no confidence motion against Margao Municipal Council Deputy Chairperson Doris Texeira resulted in the realignment of political equations in Margao.
The Goa Forward-BJP combine that was supposed to file a no-confidence motion against Doris has not done so today ostensibly because Doris has reportedly informed the chairperson that she intended to resign on Thursday.
MMC Councilor Rupesh Mahatme said Doris had assured the chairperson that she would resign from the post wherein the no-confidence motion would not be necessary.
However, Doris when contacted ruled out the possibility of resigning and said the no-confidence motion against her would never be moved.
Doris who has always been known to be a  Digambar Kamat supporter was reportedly singing praises of TCP minister Vijai Sardessai who she said always groomed and backed her in her political career.
Tomorrow will prove to be a crucial day to see whether Doris resigns or whether the no-confidence motion against her will be moved. Or perhaps another alternate move will be made with her aligning with Vijai and continuing to occupy her position.
