MARGAO: In a major decision, the Margao Municipal Council on Monday directed its officials to conduct a survey of the Municipal markets and list out illegalities and encroachments.
The officials were also directed to ascertain the annual revenue earned by the civic body from the municipal markets and the expenditure incurred on their maintenance.
The meeting was attended by Chairperson Arthur D’Silva, Market Committee Chairperson Berta Cardozo, Chief Officer Deepali Naik, Municipal Engineer Diniz D’Mello and market inspectors. The MMC officials were directed to ascertain the encroachments in the market.
