The PWD officials who were not present for the review meeting got instructions from the chairperson over the phone to complete the patchwork on the potholes as early as possible.
Speaking to Herald, MMC Chairperson Nandadeep Raut stated that in a second review meeting he had pointed out that the illumination work for the Saptah festival need to be started and some streetlights which are non functional need to be repaired immediately, to which the Assistant Engineer of Electricity Department has assured to undertake the work soon.
Raut also instructed Excise Department officials to keep a close vigil on those people who drink at certain spots and also informed that he has asked the excise officials to keep a check on the bars timings so that they close during the given time frame.
Further, he informed that he was surprised to see that the PWD officials gave a miss to this review meeting and also agreed that the patchwork of the roads is yet to get completed.
Raut revealed that although PWD officials stayed absent for the meeting, he made it a point to call the PWD officials and give them strict instructions to complete the potholes filling up work on war footing before Saptah.
