MARGAO: Margao Municipal Council on Wednesday fined 14 business establishments from Fatorda including the Kadamba Transport Corporation for not segregating their waste.
A fine of Rs 2,000 was collected from each of them. The MMC team was led by Chief Officer Siddhivinayak Naik along with Sanitary Inspector Sanjay Sangelkar. Meanwhile, Market Inspectors Hasina Begum and Seema Godge carried out an anti-plastic drive and fined three business establishments for using banned plastics. One was fined Rs 5,000 as it was their second offence.
