The Mormugao Municipal Council (MMC) has commenced renovation and beautification of the footpaths opposite the newly constructed Vasco Fish Market under a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative supported by Goa Shipyard Ltd (GSL).
The project was formally launched by Vasco MLA Krishna Salkar in the presence of MMC Chairperson Girish Borker and City Ward Councillor Shami Salkar. The initiative aims to improve pedestrian safety and enhance the overall aesthetics of the area, which sees heavy footfall from shoppers and commuters.
Officials said the upgraded footpaths will provide a safer and more accessible walking space for citizens while contributing to the beautification of the market surroundings. The project reflects effective collaboration between the municipal council and public sector enterprises for urban development.
