VASCO: With lack of civic sense, some port town residents, who have dumped the floral waste and other plastic residue in the open near Vaddem Lake, have been lying there till Tuesday evening.
It was an eyesore at the Vaddem Lake with the dumps of floral waste and plastic left undisposed, since the past two days.
The Mormugao Municipal Council staff informed that the vehicle to collect the dumps was sent but in reality the waste was still lying there unattended.
Later, when contacted the MMC Chief Officer, he informed that the MMC vehicle to pick up the waste near Vaddem Lake had been sent. It may be recalled that the Vaddem Lake was beautified spending lakhs of rupees and the project was inaugurated last year with great enthusiasm. But the people have failed to maintain a civic sense and keep cleanliness at this beautified spot.
