MARGAO: Agnelo Fernandes, Chief Officer of Margao Municipal Council (MMC), has passed an order to demolish the proposed tea stall at Kadamba Transport Corporation Limited bus stand at Margao on Monday.
Whilst issuing the order, the Chief Officer has given 15 days time to the owners to demolish the structure or that the MMC would initiate action.
It is pertinent to note that GOACAN had filed a complaint against the proposed tea stall at KTC bus stand, which was erected without permissions. On receiving the complaint the MMC had issued a show cause notice to the owner.
“I hold the contention of the complainant valid that construction of the illegal structure is in the area allocated for two wheelers, and is very close to the footpath of the main road heading to the roundabout. The location of the tea stall is very dangerous as it will affect the traffic flow on the main road, and many customers will park their vehicles on the main road, and visit the tea stall,” said the Chief Officer in the order.
He has also said that the construction of the tea stall is without obtaining either a construction licence from the municipality or an NOC from South Goa Planning and Development Authority.
