MARGAO: Margao Municipal Council once again assured to restore the house of noted Goan parliamentarian in the Portuguese Parliament Dr Francisco Luis Gomes at Colmorod, Margao, as he was remembered on his 152nd death anniversary on Thursday.
A short function was held at the statue of Dr Gomes installed it near the Communidade building, Margao, where Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai, besides Lyndon Pereira, chairperson of MMC, Avinash Shirodkar, president 18th June Kranti Din Committee, and several councillors of MMC attended the function.
Lyndon admitted that the civic body has taken a resolution in order to acquire and preserve the house of Dr Gomes situated at Colmorod, and which is in pathetic condition.
“In the 2019 council had resolved to restore the house of Dr Gomes. Now, I will try my level best to restore his house back in order to maintain his legacy,” said Pereira.
