on Monday deliberated on several issues including the decision to hire a tax superintendent and filling of vacant posts in the council.
The meeting, which was chaired by chairperson Babita Angle, was attended by councillor Tito Cardozo and other standing committee members.
The meeting unanimously resolved to hire a tax superintendent under the Departmental Promotion Committee.
The posts of Tax Superintendent and recovery officer have remained vacant for quite some time now. Since the DMA ascent was received recently, the posts would now be filled soon.
The Council has decided to hire persons and advertise for 12 vacant posts including that of head clerk, UDC, LDC and sweepers.
Councillor Tito Cardozo informed that two teams have been entrusted with the job of recovering dues and taxes.
The outstanding revenue and taxes still stand at crores of rupees and the councillors also discussed the issues of the developmental works in each ward, which are pending for the want of money.
Cardozo informed that the files will be passed till the end of this month and informed that the message regarding the same has come from the DMA.
