MARGAO: Confusion still prevails whether the Margao Municipal Council would allot stalls on the stretch of the NH-17 between KTC bus stand and Old Market circle on the occasion of the feast of Holy Spirit Church on May 19, even as District Collector N D Agrawal and local activists called for keeping this road stretch free from stalls.
Margao Municipal Council  Chairperson Arthur D’Silva said that a site inspection of the Old Market will be held on Thursday morning to take a final call on the issue.
District Collector N D Agrawal on Wednesday reviewed the arrangements made by the Margao Municipal Council in respect of the Holy Spirit Church feast fair on May 19.
The Collector suggested to the Margao Municipal Council  chief Arthur D’Silva to ensure that the stretch of the NH-17 road between the Margao KTC bus stand the Old Market circle should be free from stalls.
The Margao Municipal Council  chief later told newsmen that the civic body would take a decision after taking the activists into confidence.
Activist Laurel Abranches lamented that no final decision has been taken by the authorities on the feast fair.
He said the activists will wait for the civic body to take a call on Thursday.
