MARGAO: The Margao Municipal Council on Tuesday decided to carry out renovation and up-gradation work of eight existing public toilets with three, four and six seating capacity with provisions of one toilet each for the persons with disabilities.
Chief Officer Agnelo Fernandes said that the MMC has taken up the initiative with Sulabh International, who is presently maintaining 15 toilets. As per the Persons with Disability Act, the MMC needs to cater to the needs of persons with disabilities, hence this initiative is taken.
The places identified are four toilets at Motidongor, two at Chinchal, one at Pedda, and one at Calconda, near Krishna Mandir.
