MARGAO: The Margao Municipal Council (MMC) resolved to use various alternative materials as part of the anti-single plastic use campaign.
This was announced at an awareness programme on single use plastic, which was held at the MMC Hall, on Friday.
While there were talks on how the public can stop using plastic on a daily basis, the MMC steps on segregation of plastic waste and creating awareness amongst society by involving NGOs and citizens etc were highlighted.
It was further decided to use more cloth and jute bags and to provide more bins for further segregation of waste. It was also decided that wherever it’s necessary compostable plastic will be used.
