MARGAO: Margao Municipal Council Chief Officer on Friday issued an order directing all municipal workers from every section to report for duty on Saturday and Sunday during normal working hours with a provision to work beyond the normal hours if necessary.
The order directs the staff to be present for duty from 9.30 am to 5. 45 pm due to “emergent issues present before the Margao Municipal Council”. The emergent issue is apparently, the matter concerning the garbage disposal.
At present, the council is busy clearing the accumulated mixed waste at the treatment plant managed by Fomento Green at Sonsoddo and the daily collected waste is apparently being dumped along with the waste from the plant at the Sonsoddo dump yard near the earlier Komak plant.
