VASCO: The Mormugao Municipal Council held its first ordinary council meeting after the newly formed council, on Friday.
The council in its meeting discussed and decided to improve the financial condition of the municipal council in their tenure.
As per the available information, a meeting has been called of owners of various establishments to recover their outstanding dues and put it in the municipality coffers as soon as possible.
A discussion was also held on how to improve the deteriorating financial condition of the municipality and various steps to be taken to improve it.
There was also a discussion that several houses’ areas in the municipal jurisdiction have been extended and there is a need to revise the house tax by doing reassessment of the houses which will bring revenue to the municipality.
