VASCO: Mormugao Municipal Council’s official website continues to show outdated information about the names and the outstanding dues of the defaulters.
Citizens have raised questions over the functioning of the MMC staff and opine that official websites of local administrative bodies need to be updated frequently for people’s convenience.
Parshuram Sonurlekar of Goa First NGO said that on several occasions he tried to access some information from the MMC’s website but the information displayed seemed to be outdated.
When contacted, MMC chairperson Nandadeep Raut, also said he was shocked to learn about this lapse on the part of the MMC staff. Raut assured that the municipality website is updated by the technical cell of MMC. I will instruct them to update the data on the website,” he added.
Peter Andrade, another local from Vasco, was also shocked when he noticed that the amount of the outstanding dues of some establishments from the municipal area differ drastically over the official website of the municipality. The figures published in the Herald news report recently were given by the recovery section officer from MMC.
