Mobile app-based healthcare service made available in the State

Relief to the poor people particularly in remote areas where health care facilities lack, says Gadkari

PANJIM: Union Minister for Road, Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari on Monday said that Telemedicines Digital Platform is a crucial platform to provide healthcare services without barriers of time and space. 

While inaugurating the digital technology at Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), he further said that the blend of latest technology with that of medico experts will provide relief to the poor people particularly in those remote areas where health care facilities lack.   

“With medical experts and technology under one roof, this becomes of the important platforms to reach to the people, especially those who don’t have access to health care facilities. Using such innovative technology in medicare is very important and now the facility is made available for the public in Goa,” he said. 

“The costs of medicines are very high, we need to have more competition in this area and for that reason we should have genetic medicines which will go a long way to reduce the rates. In health sector, it is equally important to create appropriate facilities for the poor people and availability of medicines,” the union minister further said. 

Gadkari applauded Goa for becoming the first State in the country to complete 100 per cent vaccination with first dose. “Goa has broken the record, it is great thing for our country,” he said.

 Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant, also present at the event along with Health Minister Vishwajit Rane among others, highlighted the Union Government’s contribution in building infrastructure in the State. He said Union Minister has initiated various developmental projects worth around Rs 12000 crores, which are in process.

The present telemedicine project, has been initiated under CSR activity for the period of one year, which will be carried further the CM added emphasizing that this platform will benefit the public.

Rane said this initiative will boost the healthcare facilities of GMC and that the BJP government intends to take the healthcare facilities at doorstep to the people.
