MAPUSA: The Inspector General of Police-Prison (IGP) along with officers of IRBn and Central Jail, Colvale, carried out a surprise inspection visit/ raid across various cell blocks of the Central Jail, and found eight mobile phones, chargers and headphones of different brands, speakers and other contraband articles in illegal possession of the prisoners.
All articles were seized by the team for taking further cognizance as per the jail manual.
Omvir Singh Bishnoi who has taken charge of the post of IGP-Prison has strictly warned the prisoners that such illegal activities will not be tolerated in future. All subordinate authorities have been directed to maintain strict vigil to curb such unauthorized activities in the Central Jail. vStaff were also directed to refrain from immoral activities and have been warned of strict action.
