PONDA: Despite opposition to mobile tower in Government Primary School Building at Bhedshem-Talaulim, it has been has been erected in the school premises.

The parents have strongly condemned the erection of tower as they fear exposure to radiation from the mobile tower.
The parents said they had given a memorandum to all government offices, including the Chief Minister’s Office, to shift the tower 300 metres away from school.
“Some people had shown a private land away from the school for shifting the tower. However, still the tower was erected under pressure from government,” said Omkar Fadte, one of the parents whose child is studying in the school.
He said around fifty students study in this school, including those from local anganwadi and special students of Lokvishwas Pratishtan.
A parent from another nearby high school also opposed the tower being installed close to the school premises.
It is learnt that the tower will start operating in next two to three days. Parents have threatened to pull out their children from school, fearing harmful radiation.
The locals said that despite so many people shown readiness to offer land for the tower, yet it was erected on government primary school premises. They said government was not bothered for safety of children.
