MARGAO: “Model Margao panel will work with unity, availability, accessibility, honesty and transparency in the full five-year term. We will not keep a single stone unturned to make Margao an ultra-modern town. Our vision is strongly supported by the long serving Margao MLA Digambar Kamat. With his guidance and advice we will fulfill all our commitments,” stated 11 candidates of Model Margao panel in a joint press note on Wednesday.
They appealed to the Margao citizens to extend their complete support and also cautioned them to follow COVID-19 guidelines while coming in large group.
“It is not possible to carry out developmental works in the municipal area without the support and guidance of the local MLA. Fortunately we all are blessed by our most accessible MLA Digambar Kamat. We are confident that his government, which will surely come to power in 2022 Assembly elections will provide full assistance to Margao municipal council,” they said.
They reminded the people that projects like South Goa Collectorate Complex, South Goa District Hospital, water reservoir at Gogol, water tanks at Monte Hill, underground cabling, underground sewerage and various other projects were initiated by Kamat.
They claimed that they have plan to make Margao more attractive to tourist.
“We have a vision to make Margao town a tourist-sportspersons-artists friendly city. We will make Margao comfortable and accessible for persons with disabilities. We are committed to resolve the garbage management issue. We will ensure that Margao is loved by one and all,” the 11 candidate States in the press release.
According to them, the citizen’s facilitation centre at Aquem and Sirvodem will be the turning point in overall development of Margao. Our endeavour to get ISO certification for Margao municipal council will bring in accountability and responsibility,” they said.
“We will provide best health care facilities to the citizens under our slogan “Healthy Madganvkar-Wealthy Madganvkar”. Our monthly dialogues in every ward under “Prashna Tumche, Jaap Amchi” will ensure that the people’s concerns and issues are resolved on priority,” they further said.
