PANJIM: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) Goa unit has forecasted that light to moderate thunderstorms are likely to occur at many places over North Goa and South Goa Districts on Saturday, October 16.
The IMD predicted the same for Friday night too.
“Light to moderate rainfall with short intense spells very likely to be accompanied with thunder/lightning,” said the IMD.
It further stated that thunderstorm clouds are present over the talukas of Pernem, Bicholim, Sattari, Ponda, Quepem and Sanguem, and that they are likely to affect the talukas of Bardez, Tiswadi and Salcete.
“Avoid open areas/fields, shelter under trees/other tall structures while it’s lightning,” the IMD added.
