PANJIM: After becoming prime minister, the first State Narendra Modi would be visiting outside New Delhi will be Goa on June 14.
Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar on Tuesday said that Prime Minister would be arriving in Goa, the State which holds a lucky charm for him, on Saturday June 14, where he is expected to make some big-ticket announcements.
“Why you (media) want Chief Minister to speak when Prime Minister himself will be arriving in Goa on Saturday…it’s a significant visit…it’s his first visit outside New Delhi after becoming  Prime Minister,” Parrikar told media persons in Panjim after his two-day Delhi visit.
Chief Minister, who met Modi early Tuesday morning, said that the State government had put up several proposals before the Centre.
Modi would be arriving in Goa to inaugurate Indian Navy’s Shore Based Test Facility (SBTF) which is set up at INS Hansa airbase, Dabolim. The facility is built to train fighter pilots flying the MiG29K, attached to country’s aircraft carrier, INS Vikramaditya.
Thereafter Modi would be addressing BJP workers at Dr Shama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium at Taleigao plateau. The stadium has a capacity to accommodate more than 7,000 people, Parrikar said.
Prime Minister is also due to lay the foundation stone for the third bridge across river Mandovi.
