Modi writes to Shripad, applauds his contribution to tourism sector

PANJIM: Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the work of his colleague and Union Minister of State for Tourism Shripad Naik.

In a letter addressed to the North Goa MP, Modi said, “As a dedicated worker of the Bharatiya Janata Party, I have always seen you taking immense pains. As an important and experienced colleague of mine in the Central government, the work you have done in connecting the countrymen through various schemes and strengthening the tourism sector across the country, including Goa, is remarkable.”

Modi expressed confidence that Naik will reach Parliament with the blessings of the people and will work to fulfil the hopes and aspirations of the countrymen. “As a people’s representative who always has his feet on the ground, you have maintained a close relationship with the people and have contributed greatly to strengthening the BJP in Goa.

The work you have done in the North Goa Lok Sabha constituency and the efforts you are making to serve the people there will help you in achieving new heights,” he said.

“We would like to inform the voters and ‘karyakartas’ of your Lok Sabha constituency that this election is not an ordinary election. This election is an important moment to get relief from the hardships of our families and family elders who endured during five to six decades of Congress rule,” the Prime Minister said.

He urged voters to awaken against the ‘separatist and discriminatory’ intentions of the Congress and its allies.

“Their plan is to take away the reservation of SC, ST, and OBC communities and give it to their vote bank, even though reservation on the basis of religion is unconstitutional. They are planning to give people’s hard-earned money to their vote bank. Congress has also made it clear that it will support dangerous ideas like ‘Virasat Kar’,” he said.

The Prime Minister has asked party workers to focus on winning booths by encouraging people to come out and vote in large numbers.

In order to achieve success in the Lok Sabha area, emphasis should be placed on securing victory in each booth, he said.
