MoEF&CC extends validity of ECs

PANJIM: The Ministry of Environment Forest and Climate Change has granted extension of validity of prior issued environmental clearances expiring between March 15, 2020 and April 30, 2020, till June 30, 2020.

The notification issued by MoEFF&CC states: “In view of the outbreak of Corona Virus (COVID-19) and subsequent lockout declared for its control vide order dated 24th March 2020, issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt of India & the National Disaster Management Authority, notwithstanding any condition imposed in the 

respective prior environment clearance in respect of the validity period, the Ministry hereby extends the validity of prior environmental clearances in respect of all category of projects or activities expiring between 15th March 2020 and 30th April, 2020, till 30th June, 2020 provided that such project or activity is permissible to be carried out as per other relevant extant laws and regulations during the period of such extension,” the notification reads.

Further it said that the extension is subject to same terms and conditions of the previous prior environmental clearance in order to ensure uninterrupted operations of such projects or activities.
