PANJIM: The Consultative Committee on Medium of Instruction that met Thursday decided to invite views from stakeholders on the issue of medium of instruction at the primary level. The Manohar Parrikar led Committee also decided not to sit on a day to day basis from Friday but will deliberate on the issue from October 21 onwards.
The Committee will deliberate on the contents of the various views including those of the stake holders to arrive at a decision on MOI at the earliest.
There will be no meeting Friday or Saturday as envisaged earlier but the committee will meet on 21st and complete the whole deliberation which could take around a week.
“The committee will meet next on October 21 and the meetings will proceed on a day to day basis,” Anil Powar, Director of Education said when contacted.
Suggestions and recommendations have been sought from parents and general public for 10 days and they will be placed before the committee when it resumes its deliberations from October 21, he said.
Views on MoI have to be submitted to the Directorate of Education, Porvorim, on or before October 12, 2013 either through hard copy or by email at [email protected]. The views communicated should be signed by an individual or by a representative of an organization/group.
