PERNEM: Mopa Vimantal Panchkroshi Pidit Jan Sanghatana, a forum that is fighting for the rights of the farmers has given 24 hours ultimatum to Pernem police to stop the ongoing pump house work at the river bank of Bailpar in Casarvane village.
In this regards, a delegation headed by President Bharat Bagkar and Convener Uday Mahale submitted memorandum to Pernem police and Superintendent of Police North requesting to intervene and stop the pump house work, failing which the forum threatened to launch a agitation.
Forum claimed that the work is going on despite the local Kasarvane panchayat had issued stop work order. The work undertaken in agriculture property without obtaining necessary approvals and construction license from the local panchayat is allegedly illegal, claimed the forum.
Forum further threatened that if the authorities fail to stop the work within 24 hours, then people will launch agitation which might even lead to law and order situation.
