In a major capture, Mopa Police Station on Monday seized liquor worth Rs 10.82 lakh from a truck in Hasapur-Pernem. According to Mopa Police Inspector Ninad Deulkar, the action was taken after police received reliable information that the liquor was being transported to Maharashtra from Goa. Mopa police detained the truck driver Vijaybhai Chaudhary and various brands of alcohol were seized from the vehicle. The driver was later arrested and the seized liquor was handed over to the Pernem Excise office.
PI Neenad Deulkar, Sub-Inspector Prajit Mandrekar, Sub-Inspector Deepak Haldankar, Head Constable Dhondu Tulsakar, Head Constable Jayant Gad, Constable Pradip and Umesh Virnodkar conducted the operation.
