Even though the government tried to suppress the voices and break down the agitation of Taximen by imposing section 144, the Taxi associations from Pernem continued with their protest on the 6th day. The protesting taximen assembled in front of the Pernem administrative building and reiterated their demand for a notified stand at the Manohar International Airport (MIA).
Taxi operators from Pernem Taluka have bought vehicles with the hope that one day they will get a notified stand where they could operate and make a living. They hit out at local MLA Pravin Arlekar being insensitive to their plight.
